Description

The Super Wok is a heavy-gauge aluminum kadai (also spelled karahi, kadhai or kadahi), built for the dishes that need real heat: gosht karahi, chicken karahi, bhuna, curries, stir-fries, and deep-frying pakoras and samosas. The steep sloping sides hold heat in and help keep sauces from spilling when you cook hard, and the wide base gives you room to brown properly.

Six sizes cover every kitchen. The 9″ and 11″ suit small and everyday family cooking. The 13″ and 15″ suit larger families and guests. The 18″ and 20″ are for catering, restaurants and big gatherings.

Heavy-gauge food certified aluminum heats quickly and evenly. This is an uncoated pan: preheat it, use a little oil, and food releases well. Double-riveted handles give a secure grip, and a lid is included to hold in heat. It works on gas and electric glass stovetops. 9″,11″ and 13″ are induction compatible rest big sizes are not induction compatible; for more induction, see our Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Pro Wok/Karahi or our Induction Series. Hand washing is recommended.

Called a karahi in Pakistani and North Indian kitchens, a kadai or kadhai across India, a korai in Bengali, a cheenachatty in Kerala, a kawali in the Philippines, and a wok in Chinese cooking: it is the same deep, wide pan everywhere, and so is its job.
